Footle 100 Privacy Notice

Footle 100 has a simple privacy rule: applying does not make you public. Your sizing photos stay private, and any public use is agreed separately.

This notice explains how Footle GmbH handles information for Footle 100. It supplements Footle’s general Privacy Policy, which covers the Footle website, shop, cookies, payments and other general services.

What we collect

When you apply, we ask for:

your name, email address, age range, city or canton and preferred language;
a short description of your everyday routine, availability and motivation;
the brand, model and size of a shoe you currently wear;
one left-foot and one right-foot sizing photo taken with an A4 sheet; and
basic source information showing how you reached the application.

We do not ask for your delivery address or a Footle size in the public application. If you are selected and want to accept, we then ask for your delivery details, your response to our size recommendation, your chosen public name or alias, and your programme permissions.

Please do not upload an identity document, payment card, medical history, diagnosis or other unnecessary personal document.

How we use it

We use this information to:

review your application and select participants through human review;
recommend and check a Footle size;
contact you about your application and run the programme;
avoid duplicate contact, places or pairs across Footle programmes; and
improve Footle’s internal sizing method using minimised or pseudonymised measurements after the raw photos are deleted.

Footle 100 is not a medical or clinical study. We do not use your application to make medical conclusions. We do not sell your personal information.

Where it is stored

The application forms are provided by Tally BV in Belgium. Tally processes form responses for Footle and states that form data is encrypted in transit and at rest and stored in Europe.

Access is limited to the named people who need the information for application review, sizing, programme operation, service, privacy or publication checks. The launch form is not connected to an advertising platform, public spreadsheet or general marketing database.

Your sizing photos

Your left-foot and right-foot sizing photos stay private. We use them only to recommend a size and improve our internal sizing method. We do not publish them or use them in advertising unless we ask separately and you explicitly agree.

If you are not selected or withdraw before selection, we delete the raw sizing photos within 30 days of the decision or withdrawal. If you are selected, we delete the raw sizing photos within 30 days after size confirmation and any initial fit or exchange issue is closed.

Minimised, pseudonymised measurements, recommendation outcomes and sizing-method versions may be retained for internal sizing calibration.

If you are selected

Applying does not make any information public. If you receive a conditional offer, Footle asks separately for the minimum Website permission needed for a Footle 100 profile.

You may use an alias and keep your face and full name private. Before the first publication, you see the exact name or alias, images, text and context Footle proposes to publish.

Face, full name, employer, interview or film participation, press use, own-account social posting and paid-advertising use are not included by default. Footle asks separately for any optional use.

How long we keep it

Applications that are not selected are deleted or anonymised within 90 days of the decision.
Unused applications are deleted or anonymised within 30 days after recruitment closes, unless you separately ask for a minimum-data Season 2 notification.
Participant operating records are minimised within 12 months after the final programme result.
Delivery, accounting, safety, dispute and permission records may be kept for the period needed for those specific purposes.
A public programme profile stays available only while the permission remains active and relevant.

When Footle deletes a Tally submission, Tally states that the deleted form data is permanently removed from its backups within up to 90 days.

Marketing

General Footle news has its own optional checkbox. It is off by default and does not affect selection. Without that choice, Footle uses your email only for this application and programme.

Your choices

You can ask what information Footle holds about you and request correction, restriction or deletion where applicable. You can withdraw a permission for future use.

Email hello@footle.ch with the subject Footle 100 privacy request.

Footle will stop new controlled public use after a valid withdrawal and remove controlled programme material where applicable. Copies already published by independent media or cached by third parties may not be fully recallable.

Material changes to this notice or the requested permissions receive a new version. Footle will not silently expand an earlier permission.
